Sign your group up for a visit

Group visits are a great opportunity to introduce your group of high school or community college students to Illinois State University.

    • Group tours are reserved for high school students (grades 9-12), community colleges, and community based organizations interested in visiting Illinois State for up to 50 students.
    • We are unable to accommodate group tour requests for K-8 grade students.
    • If you are an individual family looking to bring a student to campus, please review our other visit options.

    Group tour guidelines

    • Groups are required to have one chaperone for every 15 students, and chaperones will stay with the group throughout the duration of the visit.
    • Most group tours include a 25-minute welcome presentation followed by a 60-minute campus tour. The tour will highlight the academic areas of campus from the prospective of a current student. Groups should plan to arrive 15-20 minutes before their start times. Late groups may have some of their programming adjusted.
    • Group visits are not offered during high volume visit times, move-in week, finals weeks, or holidays observed by the University.
    • Due to a high interest in group tours, we limit schools/organizations to one visit per academic semester.
    • Barring any extenuating circumstances, groups should contact the Office of Admissions well in advance if they are not able to attend their scheduled group tour. Late cancellations cannot be rescheduled in the same semester.

Groups are always welcome to take a self-guided tour of campus. Self-guided tour maps can be picked up at the Office of Admissions front desk in Hovey Hall or the Welcome Desk in the Bone Student Center.
